I am 95 years old, and one day I awoke at 3am thinking there was an explosion. It was me. I pressed my Life Alert button and a voice told me not to panic. Another wanted to know my problem. I didn’t know. I just wanted to go to the emergency room at Kaiser, where I was a member. I was told that help was on the way. In just minutes my room was full of firemen, who carted me off to Kaiser. I was so relieved, I shut my eyes and didn’t open them until the next morning to see the sun shining and my older daughter standing by my bed smiling. Life Alert had phoned her at her home in Apple Valley 90 miles away. They also phoned my younger daughter 800 miles away that I was in the hospital. After two endoscopics it was shown that I had the “biggest bleeding ulcer” the doctor had ever seen. After spending six days in the hospital and receiving 9 pints of blood, I am back in my own home alone – cooking, cleaning and doing yard work. Thank you, Life Alert.

I had a broken artery in my nose and bled profusely. Life Alert sent assistance to me. They responded so quickly that I had hardly enough time to open the door. Another day, I was called by Life Alert because I had smoke in the house. I would not live without Life Alert. Thank you.

My father fell from his chair at the kitchen table, complaining of pain in his heart area. I immediately contacted Life Alert and mentioned I needed an ambulance to transport my father and me to the emergency room at the Luther Midelfort Hospital. The Life Alert team did an excellent job helping me. I am very pleased with their quick response in helping me at my time of need.

I slipped onto the floor and couldn't get up. Three big men came and picked up old me. Early next morning, in trying to get back into bed after a bathroom run, my knee slipped off the bed and I’m on the floor again. I called Life Alert and within minutes here comes three big men again and they got me up. Thanks. They were wonderful.

I was having a hard time breathing. I had acute bronchitis and this is dangerous for me, since it will become pneumonia as it happened before. Life Alert dispatched paramedics to me and I was taken to the hospital.

I had a sudden fall in the bathroom. My full weight suddenly went to the left, landing my ribcage on a raised porcelain area, breaking a rib, which pierced my spleen as confirmed later by x-ray. The phone rang. It was Life Alert, inquiring if I was all right. After I explained what had happened, they called the Delray Fire Department, which took me to Delray Trauma Center, where trauma specialists decided how to treat the matter. I am now receiving physical therapy. I would strongly recommend Life Alert and their courteous, helpful staff to others.

My daughter was asleep when a kitchen fire started while my husband and I were out. My father pressed his button and the Life Alert smoke detectors went off right away. Everyone got out safe, and damage was small next to what it could have been. Thanks so much for your service. The Fire Chief credited it with keeping my family safe. Life Alert sent help, and they were here at once. They checked me and took me to the hospital. I was taken care of and got everything under control in good time. I am an 84 year old widow living alone. Life Alert is there for me so I feel safe living alone.

I slipped off the bed and pressed my Life Alert device. They summoned the fire department and 4 or 5 men arrived promptly, gained entry, and put me back on my feet. Everything worked out well.

My husband’s kidneys aren’t functioning good, and it was found he had a cancerous tumor on one of them. He was unable to get out of bed and needed to be transported to the hospital. Life Alert staff was very courteous and helpful. Overall my experience was a strongly positive one.

I am close to 92, and live alone. On September 30, I fell and was unable to get up. Fortunately, my Life Alert pendant was close by. The response was immediate. Help arrived within a few minutes and I, with my broken hip, got to the hospital very promptly. That pendant is the first thing I put on in the morning and the last thing removed at night!

I fell on my living room floor and due to my disabilities I couldn’t rise. Life Alert sent the ambulance and the EMTs got me on my chair and checked me over. I wasn’t injured so I refused their offer to be transported to the hospital, but the Life Alert service was very helpful since I was so helpless and frightened. I have recommended the Life Alert system to several friends who are in failing health. Just knowing you have it is a big comfort.

I have had to use the Life Alert system three times during 2007 and 2008. The service was excellent. Help came very quickly. I’m very happy that I am in the system. I would recommend this especially to seniors that are alone.

During my diabetic coma, Life Alert called 911 emergency and stayed in contact with me until emergency personnel arrived to carry me to the hospital from treatment. Life Alert personnel were very courteous and helpful during my time of need. Thank you, Life Alert.

Emily fell and couldn't get up. I couldn’t help her up. Life Alert stayed on the line until the paramedics arrived and got her into bed safely. Great service, comforting to know Life Alert is there when I am away at work.

Mom fell at home and hit her head. She was bleeding, so she pushed her Life Alert and they responded with emergency dispatch. Both Mom and Life Alert called me. I was able to make it to Mom’s house as paramedics were at her front door. I’d strongly recommend the Life Alert system to others.

James lost his balance when getting in position to sit in his lift chair. I was unable to prevent him from going to the floor. I could not lift him. I pushed the “panic” button and Life Alert called the firemen/paramedics, who lifted him into the chair.

I had fallen and couldn't get up because I fell on a table. The Life Alert staff called my son-in-law who lives beside of me, and he assisted me in getting up. I was called by the EMS guy and he offered to come anyway, but I told him all I needed was someone to get me up.

My 92 year old husband fell in the bathroom. He was lodged against the door, and I couldn’t get him up. I used the Life Alert monitor to get help. The Avon fire department came and checked him over after they got him up.

I have used my Life Alert system many times. I live alone but I don’t have to worry about being alone. I was in my bathroom and had just finished taking my shower when I had a vertigo attack. I pushed my alarm band. After trying to reach me by phone, Life Alert notified my daughter and sent out the paramedics. Thank you (from a proud Vietnam veteran).

My mother was vomiting and it appeared as though she was having (or had had) a stroke. We decided to transport her to the hospital and at that time contacted Life Alert. They responded immediately and stayed in contact with us until the EMTs arrived. They were prompt and courteous.

Recently, on two separate occasions, I fell and couldn't get up. Fortunately, I wasn’t hurt either time except for a few bruises. Your men were so kind and considerate and patient. Help came quickly and they wiped the blood from a small wound and put something on it. They assured me they’d come back if I needed to go to the hospital. My overall experience was very positive.

Very pleased. Our fire department was here shortly after I contacted Life Alert. I am very pleased with the Life Alert system, as my son lives in Chicago. He has peace of mind knowing I have the alert setup. Just got home after 23 days in the hospital and the first thing they put on me was the alert necklace.

The people at Life Alert were very courteous and most helpful to me when I was experiencing chest pains. I really thought I was having a heart attack. Help was sent to me, and tests were taken in my home. I was assured it was not my heart. I did not go to the hospital!
